Job summary

Vallourec North America is seeking a Finishing Department Operator to support ongoing evergreen hiring. You will operate and monitor finishing equipment, perform routine maintenance, and ensure quality in a fast-paced steel finishing environment.

Responsibilities include changeovers, crane and forklift operation, and meticulous documentation of production and quality records. A high school diploma or GED is required, with strong reading, math, and problem-solving skills essential for success.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Mathematical skills: perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning ability: apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Cross-train in all operator areas.
  • Mechanical and Electrical aptitude.

Your Day-to-Day Impact
  • Operate equipment to maximize quality, safety, and productivity.
  • Monitor and adjust machinery and equipment as required.
  • Conduct assigned housekeeping, maintenance, and quality responsibilities.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and troubleshooting for minor repairs of process problems and breakdowns.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Problem solve and support continual improvements of the process.
  • Operate and/or guide cranes.
  • Operate fork trucks.
  • Record production, inventory and complete quality documentation as required.
  • Flexible to work any shift assignment.
  • Read and use gages.
  • Work in a fast-paced production environment.
