Job summary

Buzzi Unicem USA is seeking a Yard Operations Supervisor to lead and safeguard yard activities at our cement production facilities. You will oversee the safe handling of raw materials, fuels, clinker, and finished products, while coordinating equipment and personnel across shifts.

The role requires 5+ years in yard or heavy industrial operations, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to improve processes and maintain regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Safety-sensitive role requiring compliance with MSHA/OSHA and drug/alcohol testing.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in yard/quarry/material handling or related heavy industrial environment.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and maintenance practices.
• Strong leadership experience supervising, training, and developing employees in production or industrial settings.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and varying shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with plant safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise daily yard operations for safe handling, movement, and storage of materials.
• Plan and coordinate yard equipment activities (loaders, dozers, haul trucks, etc.).
• Monitor stockpiles, blending, and inventory to ensure proper material flow.
• Conduct inspections of mobile equipment and yard areas for hazards or inefficiencies.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams on material supply and repairs.
• Lead and train yard personnel in safe operation and housekeeping.
• Coordinate plans and allocate resources to maintain high housekeeping standards.
• Maintain records of material movement, equipment hours, inspections, and fuel use.
• Assist in budgeting and cost control related to yard operations and maintenance.
• Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
