Job summary

Virginia Recycling and Waste Process is seeking a dependable Yard Foreman to oversee daily yard operations at our scrap and recycling facility in the United States. You will lead a team, enforce safety, and ensure efficient handling of materials from trucks to storage, with hands-on supervision.

This role requires leadership, reliability, and the ability to work outdoors year-round; experience in scrap, recycling, construction, or a related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in scrap, recycling, construction, or similar industry preferred
• Leadership or supervisory experience required
• Ability to operate heavy equipment (or willingness to learn)
• Strong work ethic and reliability (must show up and lead by example)
• Ability to work in outdoor conditions year-round
• Good communication and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage day-to-day yard operations
• Lead and direct yard employees to ensure efficiency and safety
• Monitor incoming and outgoing materials (scrap metal, recycling, etc.)
• Operate and oversee use of equipment (skid steers, excavators, forklifts, etc.)
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the yard
• Enforce safety procedures and company policies
• Assist customers and ensure excellent service
• Coordinate loading/unloading of trucks and containers
• Track inventory and report any discrepancies
