Job summary

Mid-City Scrap LLC seeks an Assistant Operations Manager to oversee yard, shredder, and ELV processing, ensuring safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance. This hands-on role links frontline supervisors with the Operations Manager, guiding execution of plans and performance expectations.

The position operates on a Monday–Friday, 11am–7pm schedule with Saturday rotations, requiring strong leadership and a commitment to continuous improvement in a heavy industrial setting.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in metal recycling, scrap processing, heavy industrial operations, or similar environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing day-to-day yard operations, including shredding, downstream and yard material flow.
• Coordinate daily and weekly production priorities with all department Leads.
• Monitor throughput, downtime, and material flow to support production targets and minimize bottlenecks.
• Step in to supervise operations during the Operations Manager's absence.
• Coordinate with EHS Specialist & HR to ensure a strong safety culture and enforce policies.
