Job summary

SIMS LIMITED is seeking a Yard Supervisor to oversee scrap processing and promote an accident-free, environmentally compliant workplace. The role supervises yard personnel, coordinates day-to-day operations, and ensures equipment maintenance and inspections meet safety and production standards.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to work outdoors in all types of weather.
• 3–5 years of construction or industrial experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in manufacturing, recycling, industrial, or warehouse operations preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe practices.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills for production reports and timekeeping.

Responsibilities

• Oversee yard operations and day-to-day activities to meet production requirements.
• Train and direct department employees in proper equipment use and safe practices.
• Enforce safety regulations and environmental policies across the yard.
• Review production schedules and coordinate with management to plan shifts.
• Maintain production, attendance, and timekeeping records; monitor performance.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity and quality.
