Job summary

HP Hood is hiring a Yard Jockey to support warehouse and distribution of dairy products. You will manage yard movements, inspect equipment, and coordinate with drivers and planners to ensure efficient loading and dispatching.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and a valid driver license, with proficiency in Excel, Word, SAP YL, and related software. Safety and accuracy in trailer handling are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must possess and hold a valid driver license.
• Computer skills include Excel, Word, SAP YL and other software programs.

Responsibilities

• Move and handle equipment around the yard following safety guidelines.
• Inspect equipment daily and report safety concerns.
• Examine functionality of incoming/outgoing trailers.
• Update inventory in SAP YL and Excel.
• Communicate inventories with yard coordinators and planners.
• Direct drivers and yard activities as needed.
• Record trailer movements in SAP YL.
• Prepare trailers for loading and dispatching.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff for loading/unloading trailers.
• Maintain reports of reefer trailer temperatures.
• Follow health and safety protocols at all times.
