Job summary

Builders FirstSource in Kansas seeks a Warehouse Loader/Forklift Operator to safely move materials, load shipments, and prepare loads for delivery to customer sites. You will use forklifts, hand trucks, and basic tools to secure items and ensure accurate order fulfillment.

This role is safety-sensitive and requires forklift certification, a GED or high school diploma, and the ability to lift up to 80 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; forklift certification required.
• Three (3) months experience performing these or similar tasks, or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads materials onto/from pallets, trucks or customer vehicles and secures with straps, bracing, or padding.
• Performs load-building based on order and delivery vehicle capacity to ensure balanced, safe hauling.
• Reads work orders or follows instructions to determine materials to move.
• Conveys materials to storage or designated areas using hand truck, electric dolly, forklift or similar device.
• Opens containers and labels items to ensure correct identification.
• Observes safety procedures to prevent injuries and participates in safety meetings.
