Fabcon in Grandville, MI is seeking a Yard Laborer for a permanent, full-time 1st shift (5:00 am to completion) to support the manufacturing of precast concrete products.

Responsibilities include preparing the yard for panel movement, assisting with crane operations, loading/ staging panels, daily inspections, and maintaining accurate yard records, all while upholding safety standards. Starting wage is $20/hour with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work in all weather conditions with exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and varying lighting conditions.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and organize the yard for panel movement and storage, including setting up rows and ensuring proper dunnage.
• Support safe panel handling and crane operations by coordinating with crane operators and ensuring panels are straight and level.
• Load and stage panels for transportation according to load tickets and verify dunnage during loading and yarding.
• Inspect panels and equipment, complete daily truck checks, and monitor oil, fuel, tires, and other basic operating conditions.
• Maintain accurate panel and yard records, including moves, locations, trailer/load assignments, and cast numbers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by storing dunnage and keeping work areas clear.

Starting wage:

$20/hour

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize the yard for panel movement and storage, including setting up rows, ensuring adequate dunnage, and maintaining proper dunnage placement.
• Support safe panel handling and crane operations by connecting/disconnecting cables, assisting with locating panels, directing crane operators, and ensuring panels are positioned straight and level.
• Load and stage panels for transportation according to load tickets, including preparing trailers for the next day’s first-round loads and verifying proper dunnage during loading and yarding.
• Inspect panels and equipment by checking panels for damage and required tags and completing daily truck checks, including oil, fuel, tires, and other basic operating conditions.
• Maintain accurate panel and yard records, including panel moves, yard locations, trailer/load assignments, and cast numbers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by collecting and properly storing dunnage and keeping work areas clear.

Requirements

• Must be able to work in all weather conditions with little to no climate control and regular exposure to dust, dirt, noise, vibrations, varying lighting conditions, stairs, and narrow walkways.
• Requires the ability to safely lift and move up to 50 lbs., walk, climb, bend, reach, use hand tools with force, maintain spatial awareness and depth perception, and communicate effectively in a busy industrial environment.
• Ability to carry out complex verbal instructions.
• Ability to work well with others and maintain professional conduct.
• Ability to work overtime when required.
