Job summary

Thomas Foods International, USA is seeking a Yard Jockey Driver in Jacksonville, FL to lead warehouse operations and ensure safe, efficient trailer moves. This role reports to the Warehouse Manager and requires a Class A CDL and at least 1 year of yard jockey experience.

You will back trailers into loading docks, perform safety checks, and assist dock staff, working in a team‑oriented, fast-paced environment. The position is full-time and on-site.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Valid Class A CDL and 1 year yard jockey/CDL driving experience in a warehouse environment required.
  • Must be able to lift a maximum of 80 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Maneuver trucks within the Jacksonville, FL lot; off-site as needed.
  • Safely back trailers into loading docks.
  • Perform safety checks to secure trailer.
  • Assist with repositioning containers or other large items.
  • Inspect containers and monitor temperature and fuel levels.
  • Assist dock workers in loading/unloading the trailer and other warehouse tasks when needed.
  • Track trailers of pallets to assist in scheduling replenishment when necessary.
  • Follow all safety protocols and work efficiently to ensure containers are moved in a safe and timely manner.
  • Any additional tasks set forth by Warehouse management, within scope and ability.

About the Job

Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, the Yard Jockey Driver role is a high‑visibility, high‑impact leadership role within the Warehouse Department at TFI USA.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

Under the supervision of the Warehouse Manager, the Yard Jockey Driver is responsible for driving the jockey truck within the facility lot and off-site if necessary. This individual is required to safely back trailers into loading docks, reposition containers and perform required safety checks throughout the process. Class A CDL required.

  • Conduct trailer checks to ensure proper temperature and fuel levels
  • Assist dock workers in loading and unloading the trailer and other warehouse tasks when needed
  • Track trailers of pallets to assist in scheduling replenishment when necessary
  • Follow all TFI USA safety protocols and work efficiently to ensure containers are moved in a safe and timely manner
  • Any additional tasks set forth by Warehouse management, within scope and ability
Requirements/Education/Experience/Skills)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License with Class A CDL required
  • 1-year yard jockey/CDL driving experience in a warehouse environment required
  • Ability to seamlessly climb in/out of trailer
  • Team player, willing to jump in and help in other areas of the warehouse as needed
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 80 pounds
  • Strong work ethic, communication skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely across departments
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Ability to read and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Able to work in cold conditions that range from -1*F up to 45*F
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test as well as random drug tests as requested
  • Understand and abide by all safety regulations as well as policies and procedure set forth by Thomas Foods International, USA
