Job summary

Canam Steel Corporation is seeking a Yard Equipment Operator to safely move, load, and unload materials in a manufacturing setting. The role requires forklift operation experience, adherence to safety protocols, and reliable attendance on 1st shift on site in Jacksonville, FL.

Responsibilities include loading/j rigging steel joists, assisting with shop material handling, and maintaining an organized work area while following internal procedures and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Minimum of 6 months experience operating a forklift.
• Ability to pass internal forklift certification.
• Ability to read and understand loading requisitions.

Job description

The Yard Equipment Operator is responsible for safely moving, loading, and unloading materials using forklifts and/or other types of equipment in a manufacturing setting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Load, rig steel joists and/or girders on trailers as assigned.
• Assist with loading and unloading material in shop as needed.
• Assist with steel joist bundles and yard layout as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Adhere to safety protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Regular, reliable, punctual and consistent attendance. Must be able to work regular and/or flexible hours or shifts, overtime, weekends as required.

Anticipated Pay Range

$20 / Hour + overtime and weekly production bonuses

REQUIREMENTS:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Manufacturing floor with machinery.

• Use of personal protection equipment is required.
