Job summary

Fabick Cat is seeking an Inventory Clerk/Material Handler to maintain orderly flow of customer and Fabick assets across divisions. This role focuses on inbound/outbound movement, barcode tagging, and accurate recordkeeping on a Fabick campus in Michigan.

Responsibilities include coordinating equipment shipping, performing inventory audits, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring yard cleanliness. Requires 3+ years in heavy machinery and strong customer service mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum education is a high school diploma or GED; technical or vocational training desired.
• 3+ years of heavy machinery, shipping/receiving and yard duties experience.
• Strong customer service skills are required.
• Mechanical aptitude to move equipment around the yard.
• Ability to multi-task with minimal supervision.
• Must have heavy equipment experience.
• Demonstrates urgency and ownership in work.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shipping of new, used, rental, demo, and serviced equipment.
• Initiate INSPCT templates for loss mitigation of Fabick and customers.
• Receive new equipment and attach barcodes per process.
• Generate and send receiver to Sales Department per process.
• Assist in preparing/evaluating equipment for customer showcases.
• Investigate and resolve shipping/receiving errors.
• Comply with policies, safety rules, and regulations.
• Examine contents against records to verify accuracy.
• Photograph equipment; verify serial numbers, hours, attachments, and damage.
• Document and notify about damages with supporting files.
• Conduct monthly physical inventory audits and barcode all items.
• Reconcile inventory reports and locate missing items.
• Submit reports and communicate discrepancies to department heads.
• Maintain an organized yard free of debris.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
