Job summary

Covenant Logistics is seeking a Transportation Yard Coordinator in Columbus, OH to act as the liaison between the facility and operations. You will oversee dock moves, manage yard and shuttle movements, and ensure accurate paperwork for inbound/outbound shipments.

The role requires 1+ years in an admin/transportation setting, familiarity with yard software, and strong MS Word/Excel skills. A fast-paced environment with safety focus and vendor coordination is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years' experience in an administrative capacity and/or relevant role preferred.
• 1+ Transportation experience preferred.
• AS400 or YMS Yard Management Software experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage trailer pulls from all locations (Empties, Raws and Pack Returns).
• Ensure computer entries are current.
• Fill out shift reports.
• Responsible for Driver Turnover, Equipment Maintenance (PM Services, Inspections), and Safety Communications for site awareness.
• Check in all inbound/outbound trucks and timestamp all inbound and outbound paperwork.
• Manage all inbound/outbound dock moves as instructed.
• Coordinate moves and delegate tasks to yard drivers; liaise with vendors for maintenance.
• Manage trailer inventory for Landair and outside carriers.
• Perform daily yard checks and document trailer locations and equipment.
