About The Team

We conduct hundreds of live auctions each year worldwide. It takes a dedicated team of energetic professionals in various full-time and part-time roles to run successful multi-million dollar auctions—from equipment inspectors, yard managers, and operators to administrative staff and customer service representatives.

Job Description

The Yard Staff safely receives, processes, lines up, supports sale day activities, and checks out consigned equipment for the auction. Strict adherence to Ritchie Bros. customer service standards is required at all times.

Responsibilities

• Receives/releases (checks-in/checks-out) consigned equipment for auction.
• Uses auction listings to line up equipment for display prior to auction.
• Drives and operates heavy and light equipment.
• Performs facility inspections (per checklists) and provides housekeeping or maintenance services as needed.
• Performs basic maintenance on RBA-owned equipment.
• Manages keys for equipment.
• Operates forklift to load/unload stationary equipment.
• Performs basic assembly of equipment, e.g., dozer blades.
• Checks fluid and fuel levels on equipment.
• Sets out signage, flags, and trash receptacles for auction day.
• Drives sound truck.
• Holds ‘This item for sale’ signs (stick person).
• Places operators on rolling stock.
• Parks sold equipment on the ramp.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills for both internal and external clients.
