Job summary

Southwest Boulder & Stone is hiring a Yard Assistant for our Gardena, CA location. This full-time role involves greeting customers, helping with product selection, loading customer vehicles, weighing trucks, and coordinating yard upkeep with the foreman.

You will learn product lines and participate in training to advance in a family-owned landscape supply company. The position offers benefits, paid holidays, and the opportunity to grow within a renowned Southern California supplier.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Prior forklift experience/certification a plus.
• Ability to work rotational weekends.
• Willingness to learn material quickly and adapt to tasks.

Responsibilities

• Meet & Greet customers
• Assist customers with product selection and sales
• Load customer vehicles, checking for accuracy
• Weigh trucks when needed
• Coordinate yard upkeep with yard foreman
• Ensure proper tagging, weighing, and storage of products
• Ensure scales and yard areas are clean of debris
• Maintain tool cleanliness and product organization/visibility in yard
• Operate equipment as needed using checklist and safety measures
• Assist Drivers when needed
• Establish sales leads from customers
• Participate in progressive training on current and new product lines
• Complete product knowledge testing
