Job summary

Southwest Boulder & Stone in Gardena, CA is seeking a Yard Assistant to support customers, assist with product selection, and help load vehicles. This full-time, on-site role offers growth in a busy landscape supply operation.

Responsibilities include weighing trucks, coordinating yard upkeep, tagging and storing products, operating equipment safely, and contributing to sales leads. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and weekend rotation are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Prior forklift experience/certification a plus.
• Ability to work rotational weekends
• Operate forklifts safely and efficiently

Responsibilities

• Meet & Greet customers
• Assist customers with product selection and sales
• Load customer vehicles, checking for accuracy
• Weigh trucks when needed
• Coordinate yard upkeep with yard foreman
• Ensure proper tagging, weighing, and storage of products
• Ensure scales and yard areas are clean of debris
• Maintain tool cleanliness and product organization/visibility in yard
• Operate equipment as needed using checklist and safety measures
• Assist Drivers when needed
• Establish sales leads from customers
• Participate in progressive training on current and new product lines
• Complete product knowledge testing
