Job summary

Ocean Yacht Sales is seeking a motivated and professional commission yacht sales representative to join our Dartmouth, Nova Scotia-based team. This independent contract role is commission-only and focuses on listing generation, client development, and closing sailboat sales.

You should be an experienced yacht broker or seasoned sales professional with knowledge of the pleasure boat industry, able to travel and build relationships while meeting monthly targets.

Qualifications

• College or University degree an asset
• Experience working in Yacht sales or related industry with boats knowledge
• Minimum of 5 years’ sales experience
• Proficiency with computers, mobile devices, and various software
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication
• Attention to detail
• Experience with a CRM system an asset
• Positive attitude and team player
• Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to travel
• Excellent English communication; French an asset

Responsibilities

• Generating and managing client listings, including listing agreements
• Identify and prospect new potential clients
• Cold calling and networking to build a client base
• Complete listing agreements with vessel details and photos
• Input and manage sales information in the listing system
• Respond quickly and professionally to inquiries
• Answer buyer questions regarding listings
• Manage the full sales process from showings to sea trials
• Handle offers and negotiate terms with buyers and sellers
• Ensure all sales documents are accurate and professional
• Provide ongoing after-sales care and client communication
• Coordinate showings and sea trials for interested buyers
• Participate in sales meetings and reporting
• Attend trade events and meet clients face-to-face when needed
• Achieve or exceed monthly targets
• Build relationships to understand client preferences
• Assist clients with financing, insurance, and related services
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and market conditions
• Coordinate boat commissioning tasks when required
