xPL Estimator – Electrical, DFMA & Offsite

Job summary

Turner Construction Company seeks an experienced estimator for the xPL Offsite Manufacturing Facility. You will prepare detailed estimates from drawings and specs across structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines, and coordinate with vendors and internal teams to finalize bids.

Responsibilities include developing bid packages, managing documents, and analyzing costs to deliver competitive, accurate estimates for xPL solutions and products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 3 years of related experience.
• Experience in structural, mechanical and/or electrical disciplines is highly desirable.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules.
• Knowledge of estimating documents and ability to provide accurate qualitative and quantitative analysis of documents.
• Familiarity with Design For Manufacturing (DFMA) practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimate including quantity take-offs, analysis, estimate input, and studies for items in identified xPL project scope.
• Collaborate with xPL team and stakeholders to understand scope boundaries and proposed work.
• Apply DFMA knowledge to understand project and product requirements for xPL manufacturing.
• Lead document management for the project and distribute information to stakeholders.
• Assist with defining the setup of estimate, estimate schedule, and responsibility matrix.
• Serve as liaison between vendors, suppliers, and clients to document coordination and scope definitions.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and procurement teams to obtain market pricing and substitutions.
• Analyze cost data and material costing to develop standard information for estimates.
• Develop xPL value analysis studies evaluating schedule, cost, and labor benefits.
• Gain understanding of factors required for comprehensive xPL scoping including contracts, logistics, capacity, and schedule.
• Prepare scope requisitions for materials and trades; coordinate to identify and eliminate gaps.
• Prepare comparison analyses to previous estimates and alternatives.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor proposals for price leveling and comparison.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to support estimating efforts.
