Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant engineering experience in automotive simulation, testing, embedded systems, or software.
  • Hands-on experience with XIL, MiL, SiL, HiL, or virtual validation environments.
  • Experience with simulation toolchains and system integration.
  • Experience with test automation and CI/CD environments.
  • Strong understanding of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, LIN, FlexRay.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

Our client is advancing its virtual vehicle development strategy and is seeking an XIL Framework & Simulation Engineer to support the development and deployment of scalable virtual validation capabilities. The engineer will contribute to the development and integration of XIL frameworks, simulation toolchains, restbus simulation solutions, and virtual validation environments used across vehicle development programs. This role will work closely with engineering, software, validation, and architecture teams to develop standardized simulation solutions, improve automation, and support the adoption of virtual validation across vehicle programs.

Key Responsibilities
XIL Framework & Simulation
  • Develop and enhance scalable XIL (MiL/SiL/HiL/ViL) frameworks for virtual vehicle validation.
  • Support the development of modular and reusable simulation architectures.
  • Integrate simulation models, tools, and platforms into unified workflows.
  • Troubleshoot and improve framework performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Support the implementation of automated simulation and testing workflows.
Toolchain & Platform Integration
  • Develop and integrate simulation tools and supporting software components.
  • Support simulation orchestration and workflow automation.
  • Assist with model, test artifact, and simulation data management.
  • Integrate simulation environments with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support automated and distributed simulation execution.
  • Develop scripts and utilities to improve simulation and testing efficiency.
Restbus Simulation
  • Develop and maintain restbus simulation environments.
  • Work with automotive communication protocols including CAN, Ethernet, LIN, and FlexRay.
  • Develop and configure network simulation models for missing or simulated ECUs.
  • Support signal, timing, and communication behavior modeling.
  • Troubleshoot network communication and integration issues.
  • Work with cross-functional teams including:
  • vECU and software development
  • System architecture and integration
  • Validation and testing
  • Support the deployment and adoption of standardized simulation solutions.
  • Document simulation frameworks, processes, and technical solutions.
  • Participate in technical discussions and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support project execution, issue resolution, and technical prioritization.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in automotive simulation, testing, embedded systems, or software development.
  • Hands-on experience with XIL, MiL, SiL, HiL, or virtual validation environments.
  • Experience with simulation toolchains and system integration.
  • Experience with test automation and CI/CD environments.
  • Strong understanding of automotive communication protocols such as:
  • CAN
  • Ethernet
  • LIN
  • FlexRay
  • Understanding of restbus simulation concepts.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Automotive OEM or Tier-1 experience.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • MATLAB/Simulink
  • dSPACE
  • ETAS
  • Vector tools
  • Knowledge of AUTOSAR Classic or Adaptive.
  • Familiarity with Linux and embedded systems.
  • Experience with XDK or similar execution/simulation frameworks.
  • Exposure to cloud-based or distributed simulation environments.
  • Experience working with large-scale simulation data and models.
  • Knowledge of automotive domains such as:
  • ADAS / Autonomous Driving
