Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is hiring a Radiology Technologist responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic examinations. The role involves patient positioning, image processing, and ensuring safety per ALARA standards.

You will also handle clerical duties, operate EPIC/PACS systems, and assist with scheduling and patient education. The position requires ARRT certification, NJ radiologic license, and BLS/HCP within 60 days.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
• AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills (MS Office/Google Suite).

Responsibilities

• Produce diagnostic radiographic examinations by patient positioning and selecting proper factors.
• Gather information from medical records and staff to prepare scanning protocols.
• Adhere to ALARA principles and safe collimation for patient safety.
• Perform portable x-ray exams in various areas (rooms, ORs, ED).
• Identify images correctly using patient name and MRN.
• Process and reconstruct images.
• Maintain orderly x-ray room and supplies.
• Prepare radiopaque contrast media and assist with administration.
• Handle scheduling and patient instruction duties.
• Assist patients with mobility and positioning as needed.
• Work shifts including holidays/weekends; possible on-call.
