The X Ray Limited Scope & Medical Support Specialist performs routine x-ray, medical, and testing procedures under direct supervision, supporting various facility areas including registration and referral management. This role involves performing routine X-ray examinations following company policies and regulations, delivering efficient, accurate patient care, and ensuring a positive patient experience through respectful and skillful interactions.

Responsibilities

X-ray Technician Duties

  • Prepare and assist patients for radiologic procedures, including positioning and explaining the process, ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic images, adjusting controls for optimal exposure.
  • Use radiation safety measures to protect patients and staff.
  • Maintain and report on radiologic equipment functionality and calibration.
  • Follow workflows and document all procedures correctly.

Medical Support Specialist Duties

  • Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, including vital signs and ancillary tests.
  • Assist providers during examinations and procedures, including emergency triage.
  • Apply dressings, dispense medications, and maintain medical equipment and supplies.
  • Handle clerical tasks, including patient check-in/out, documentation, and communication.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and safety protocols.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • State-approved Limited Scope Technician certification and license (if applicable)
  • CPR/First Aid certification

Experience and skills include:

  • At least six months of medical assistant experience, including medical procedures and terminology
  • Experience in X-ray and routine medical procedures
  • Knowledge of occupational medicine requirements is preferred

Core competencies include service mentality, attention to detail, urgency, initiative, flexibility, decision-making, customer service, confidentiality, communication, teamwork, and ongoing training participation. Certifications in drug screening and collection methods are required, along with intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
