Job description

X-Ray Technologist - Radiology Technician

Location: Arlington, VA

Pay: From $35 per hour

Must Have:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Keyboarding experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• One year of clerical experience preferred (new graduates welcome)
• One year of clinical experience preferred
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Licensed as a Radiologic Technologist or Limited Radiologic Technologist by the Virginia Board of Health Professions
• Limited Radiologic Technologist license acceptable

Responsibilities:

1. Obtain quality x-rays using correct positioning and radiation exposure
2. Implement safety procedures to avoid unnecessary radiation exposure
3. Create and document x-ray CD copies according to guidelines, label images and sleeves correctly
4. Understand and operate x-ray and processing equipment correctly
5. Use the bell system effectively
6. Maintain all x-ray paperwork accurately
7. Ensure patient safety when using equipment like wheelchairs and stools
8. Utilize systems such as Daily Log, X-Ray Listing, Copy Listing, and X-Ray Status Screen
9. Operate and maintain the automated medical records system
10. Clean work areas following OSHA guidelines and perform other maintenance tasks
11. Restock supplies as needed
12. Respond to physician and nurse requests promptly and respectfully
13. Complete checklists for x-ray and treatment areas
14. Attend scheduled training and staff meetings
15. Be flexible to assist during breaks and mealtimes as needed
16. Operate and maintain medical and office equipment as trained
