X-Ray Technologist - Radiology Technician
Location: Arlington, VA
Pay: From $35 per hour
Must Have:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Keyboarding experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- One year of clerical experience preferred (new graduates welcome)
- One year of clinical experience preferred
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Licensed as a Radiologic Technologist or Limited Radiologic Technologist by the Virginia Board of Health Professions
- Limited Radiologic Technologist license acceptable
Responsibilities:
- Obtain quality x-rays using correct positioning and radiation exposure
- Implement safety procedures to avoid unnecessary radiation exposure
- Create and document x-ray CD copies according to guidelines, label images and sleeves correctly
- Understand and operate x-ray and processing equipment correctly
- Use the bell system effectively
- Maintain all x-ray paperwork accurately
- Ensure patient safety when using equipment like wheelchairs and stools
- Utilize systems such as Daily Log, X-Ray Listing, Copy Listing, and X-Ray Status Screen
- Operate and maintain the automated medical records system
- Clean work areas following OSHA guidelines and perform other maintenance tasks
- Restock supplies as needed
- Respond to physician and nurse requests promptly and respectfully
- Complete checklists for x-ray and treatment areas
- Attend scheduled training and staff meetings
- Be flexible to assist during breaks and mealtimes as needed
- Operate and maintain medical and office equipment as trained
