Job summary

Loyola Medicine is seeking an X-Ray Technical Specialist to serve as the technical subject matter expert in Radiology. You will develop and implement clinical imaging protocols for the region and act as the educator and trainer for staff, including Clinical Instructors.

You will oversee safety protocols, direct quality for the modality, and liaison with vendors, physicians, and staff. You will perform technical X-ray procedures with independent judgement, contributing to high-quality diagnostic

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent training in Radiologic Technology.
• AMA approved program in Radiology Technology or Radiology Technologist.
• ARRT certification required.
• IEMA certification required.
• CPR certification required.

About the Job

In this role the X-Ray Technical Specialist, in collaboration with the Radiology Leadership, including Physician Leader(s), functions as the technical "subject matter expert". This position is charged with the development & implementation of all clinical imaging protocols for the region. The X-Ray Technical Specialist acts as the educator/super trainer for all staff, Clinical Instructor, oversees all Safety protocols and all research projects, directs quality for the modality, and serves as a liaison between the equipment vendor, physicians, & staff. In addition, this person performs technical procedures, applying modality specific techniques that require independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative to provide the physician with the highest quality of diagnostic information.

What you'll need

• Associate degree; or equivalent training acquired via work experience or education
• Specific Degree(s): Radiologic Technology; Radiology Technologist- AMA approved program
• 3-5 years of previous job-related experience
• May require on-call, weekend, holiday and emergency coverage as department needs warrant.
• Requires travelling to offsite locations as needed

Licensure/Certifications

• Required:
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologist R.T.(R)(ARRT) (ARRT) Approved AMA program
• Illinois Emergency Management Agency Certification (IEMA)
• CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) from American Heart Association

Annual Salary Range: $35.00 - 59.00

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
