Job summary

Loyola Medicine in Maywood, IL is seeking an X-Ray Technical Specialist to lead imaging protocol development across the region. You will collaborate with Radiology leadership, act as subject matter expert, and train staff while ensuring safety and quality.

The role requires 3-5 years' experience, ARRT certification, IEMA, CPR, and AMA-approved radiology program, with travel to offsite locations and potential on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent training.
• Radiologic Technology degree or AMA approved program.
• 3-5 years of related experience.
• May require on-call, weekend, holiday and emergency coverage.

Responsibilities

• Develop & implement clinical imaging protocols for the region.
• Act as educator/super trainer for staff; oversee safety protocols and research projects.
• Direct quality for the modality and liaise with vendors, physicians and staff.
• Perform technical procedures using modality-specific techniques with independent judgement.

About the Job

In this role the X-Ray Technical Specialist, in collaboration with the Radiology Leadership, including Physician Leader(s), functions as the technical "subject matter expert". This position is charged with the development & implementation of all clinical imaging protocols for the region. The X-Ray Technical Specialist acts as the educator/super trainer for all staff, Clinical Instructor, oversees all Safety protocols and all research projects, directs quality for the modality, and serves as a liaison between the equipment vendor, physicians, & staff. In addition, this person performs technical procedures, applying modality specific techniques that require independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative to provide the physician with the highest quality of diagnostic information.

What you'll need

• Associate degree; or equivalent training acquired via work experience or education
• Specific Degree(s): Radiologic Technology; Radiology Technologist- AMA approved program
• 3-5 years of previous job‑related experience
• May require on‑call, weekend, holiday and emergency coverage as department needs warrant.
• Requires travelling to offsite locations as needed

Required:

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologist R.T.(R)(ARRT) (ARRT) Approved AMA program
• Illinois Emergency Management Agency Certification (IEMA)
• CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) from American Heart Association

Annual Salary Range: $35.00 - 59.00

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
