Job summary

Loyola Medicine in Maywood, IL is seeking an MRI Modality Technical Specialist to lead development and implementation of clinical imaging protocols across scanners in the Loyola Medicine Region. The role requires deep MRI parameter knowledge, independent judgment, and the ability to educate staff and students while collaborating with MRI Physicists on research, quality, and accreditation tasks.

Salary is hourly $35.00–$59.00; schedule Mon-Fri 9:00am-5:30pm; on-site with satellite locations as

Qualifications

  • Associate degree required in Radiologic Technology or MRI Technology.
  • ARRT certification required.
  • CPR certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement clinical MRI protocols for all scanners in the Loyola Medicine Region.
  • Serve as MRI technical expert and educator for staff and students.
  • Collaborate with MRI Physicist on research projects and quality initiatives.
  • Oversee accreditation processes (IQR/ACR) and vendor liaison activities.
  • Grow and manage MRI programs with radiology schools.

About the Job

In this role and under the direction of the MRI Manager in collaboration with the MRI Medical director, the Modality Technical Specialist functions as the MRI technical "subject matter expert". This position is charged with the development & implementation of all clinical imaging protocols for all scanners within the Loyola Medicine Region. Must have in-depth knowledge of MRI parameters manipulation and troubleshooting. In addition, this person performs technical procedures, applying magnetic resonance techniques that require independent judgement, ingenuity. and initiative in order to provide the physician with the highest quality of diagnostic information. The MRI Modality Technical Specialist also acts as the chief educator-clinical instructor/super trainer for all staff and students. MRI Technical Specialist works in collaboration with MRI Physicist to oversee all MRI research projects, directs quality for the modality, and serves as a liaison between the equipment vendor, physicians, & staff. Performs IQR and ACR accreditation. Ability to grow and manage MRI programs with various Radiology schools.

What You'll Need
Required:
  • Associate degree
  • Specific Degree(s): Radiologic Technology; MRI Technologist
  • 3-5 years of previous job-related experience
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
Licensure/Certifications
Required:
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Tech
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) from American Heart Association

Hourly Rate: $35.00 – $59.00

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
