Job summary

HCA Healthcare's CareNow – West Ashley – Sam Rittenberg in Charleston, SC is seeking an X-Ray Tech / Medical Assistant who provides patient-centered care and supports clinical operations. This role combines radiology and assistant duties under provider orders, with duties including vital signs, EHR documentation, and basic imaging.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma, completion of an accredited MA program, and RT/LPR licensure in state of residency, with BLS and drug screening certifications

Qualifications

• 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting.
• Experience using an EHR system.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (BOTP) or equivalent.
• Radiological Technologist (RT) or Limited Practice Radiographer (LPR/LMRT) license required in state of residency.
• Current AAMA certification preferred.
• Current BLS Certification within 30 days of start.
• Must obtain Federal Breath Alcohol Screening and Federal Drug Screening Certifications within 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, collecting lab specimens, performing EKG’s, and administering IM injections.
• Perform all x-ray/imaging services according to provider’s orders and update patient charts accordingly.
• Collect patient history and documenting EHR appropriately.
• You may apply splints, dressings and bandages.
• Assist with check-in/check-out when needed including auditing charts.
• Maintain records and logs on activities including radiology, in-house lab work, drug screens, and lab work sent out to other labs.
• Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.

As a Tech, you will:

• Take vital signs, collecting lab specimens, performing EKG’s, and administering IM injections.
