Job summary

CareNow – Mt Pleasant, under HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Limited Practice Radiographer/Medical Assistant to support patient care in a fast-paced urgent care environment. You will perform imaging, vital signs, EKGs, injections, and chart updates while volunteering for essential check-ins and chart audits.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, and an RT/LPR license in the resident state, with BLS and drug/alcohol screenings

Qualifications

• 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting is helpful.
• Experience using an EHR system is beneficial.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Medical Assistants or completion of an approved program (BOTP) is required.
• Radiological Technologist (RT) or Limited Practice Radiographer (LPR / LMRT), license is required in state of residency.
• Current certification from the AAMA is preferred.
• Current BLS Certification is required within 30 days of start.
• Must obtain a Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certification and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 3 months of employment or promotion.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, collecting lab specimens, performing EKG’s, and administering IM injections.
• Perform all x-ray/imaging services according to provider’s orders and updates patient charts accordingly.
• Collect patient history and documenting EHR appropriately.
• Apply splints, dressings and bandages when needed.
• Assist with check-in/check-out and auditing charts.
• Maintain records and logs on radiology, in-house lab work, drug screens, and lab tests sent out to other labs.
• Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.
