The University of Toledo Health Science Campus is seeking an X-ray Sr Technol Spec (Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist) to support the Cardiac/ Vascular and Neuro interventional suite under the Attending physician. You will scrub, monitor, and assist with procedures while ensuring safety and quality of care.

Required qualifications include AMA-approved radiologic tech training, Ohio license, ARRT registration, CPR certification, and on-call responsibilities; physical abilities and safety

Qualifications

  • Satisfactory completion of radiological technology training from an AMA-approved program.
  • Current Ohio license to practice radiology.
  • ARRT registration required.
  • CPR certification required and maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Assist by scrubbing and monitoring Cardiac/Vascular and Neuro procedures.
  • Maintain lab equipment, supplies, and ordering processes.
  • Adhere to radiation safety and patient safety policies.

Education

Satisfactory completion of formal radiological technology training in an AMA-approved school
Must be licensed in the State of Ohio

Job Description:

As a member of the Health Care Team, under the direction of theAttending physician, provides technical assistance by scrubbing andor monitoring a variety of Cardiac/ Vascular and Neuro diagnosticand interventional procedures. Participates in maintenance of labequipment, materials, supplies, and ordering processes.

  • 1. Adheres to all radiation safety issues by wearing badges, leadand recording length of exposure to patients.
  • 2. Adheres to NPSG 07.01.01 by effectively washing hands when goingfrom one patient to the next.
  • Knowledgeable about patient safety and quality of care issues.Able to recognize safety issues in the department and handlesincidents per institutional and/or departmental policies andprocedures. If safety issues were identified; all issues werehandled timely and appropriately.
  • Department education and training focus has a direct impact onpatient safety and reduces unsafe working conditions foremployees.
  • Employee attends and follows all department specific safetyeducation and training in an effort to create a safe workenvironment.
  • 1. Recognizes Frayed Cord:
  • Reports equipment dysfunction in timely manner.
  • Make sure alternate process is in place and action is taken.
  • Reduces adverse results or impact to patient care and theemployee.
  • 2. Recognize exposure to Blood:
  • Worked as a team to limit exposure and create a safe workenvironment.
  • Safety concerns: The manager has been timely with staff trainingand education.
  • Wiping up spills.
  • 3. Follows standardized approach for handoff communication
  • Follows policy and Standard of Care for communication including theopportunity to ask and respond to questions

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Indicate minimumrequired to qualify or perform this job.)

Required Education/Experience/Licensing:

  • 1) Satisfactory completion of formal radiological technologytraining in an AMA-approved school.
  • 2) Must be licensed in the State of Ohio
  • 3) ARRT registered.
  • 4) Assume on-call responsibilities.
  • 6) Must hold current CPR certification.
  • 7) Physical requirements:
    • a) visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 including colorvision when applicable;
    • b) ability to hear (with or without aides)
    • c) ability to orally communicate
    • d) good manual dexterity
    • e) ability to push, pull, roll, and transfer/lift 50 poundsoccasionally
    • f) ability to stand, walk frequently
    • g) ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel frequently; and
    • h) ability to perform CPR (if required for position).

Communication and other skills:

  • 1. Exhibits accuracy, integrity and flexibility; is punctual and dependable.
  • 2. Possesses organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinkingskills.
  • 3. Demonstrates ability to work with self-direction andeffectiveness under minimal supervision.
  • 4. Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills;possesses group facilitation skills.
