Job summary

The University of Toledo is seeking an X-ray Sr Technologist (Cardiovascular Interventional Technologist) to support cardio-vascular and neuro procedures within the Vascular Lab. You will scrub or monitor procedures and help maintain equipment and supplies.

Minimum qualifications include AMA-approved radiology training, Ohio licensure, ARRT registration, and at least two years of special and cardiovascular procedure experience, plus on-call duties and CPR certification.

Job Description

As a member of the Health Care Team, under the direction of the Attending physician, provides technical assistance by scrubbing and or monitoring a variety of Cardiac/ Vascular and Neuro diagnostic and interventional procedures. Participates in maintenance of lab equipment, materials, supplies, and ordering processes.

• 1. Adheres to all radiation safety issues by wearing badges, lead and recording length of exposure to patients.
• 2. Adheres to NPSG 07.01.01 by effectively washing hands when going from one patient to the next.
• Knowledgeable about patient safety and quality of care issues. Able to recognize safety issues in the department and handles incidents per institutional and/or departmental policies and procedures. If safety issues were identified; all issues were handled timely and appropriately.
• Department education and training focus has a direct impact on patient safety and reduces unsafe working conditions for employees.
• Employee attends and follows all department specific safety education and training in an effort to create a safe work environment.
• 1. Recognizes Frayed Cord: Reports equipment dysfunction in timely manner. Make sure alternate process is in place and action is taken. Reduces adverse results or impact to patient care and the employee.
• 2. Recognize exposure to Blood: Worked as a team to limit exposure and create a safe work environment. Safety concerns: The manager has been timely with staff training and education. Wiping up spills.
• 3. Follows standardized approach for handoff communication Follows policy and Standard of Care for communication including the opportunity to ask and respond to questions.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Indicate minimum required to qualify or perform this job.)

Required Education/Experience/Licensing:

1. 1) Satisfactory completion of formal radiological technology training in an AMA-approved school.
2. 2) Must be licensed in the State of Ohio
3. 3) ARRT registered.
4. 4) Minimum of 2 years experience in special procedures and cardiovascular procedures required.
5. 5) Assume on-call responsibilities.
6. 6) Must hold current CPR certification.
7. 7) Physical requirements: a) visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 including color vision when applicable; b) ability to hear (with or without aides) c) ability to orally communicate d) good manual dexterity e) ability to push, pull, roll, and transfer/lift 50 pounds occasionally f) ability to stand, walk frequently g) ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel frequently; and h) ability to perform CPR (if a required for position). (Definitions: Never 0%, Occasional 0-33%, Frequent 34-66%, Constant 67-100%)
