Job summary

University of Rochester Imaging Sciences-Ortho Tower seeks a Radiologic Technologist to produce high-quality X-ray images in a safe, efficient manner. You will verify orders and follow departmental policies while applying knowledge of anatomy and proper positioning.

Responsibilities include room preparation, patient positioning, operating equipment, verifying patient data in the EHR, transferring patients, and ensuring images are correctly archived in PACS.

Qualifications

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology is required.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• CRT - NYS licensure is required upon hire.
• ARRT certification with CE credits required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares room and patient per order; sets up equipment and determines exposure factors.
• Verifies patient name, date, and exam in electronic systems; follows dual patient identifier procedures.
• Maintains supplies in X-ray rooms and ensures accuracy of patient records.
• Produces diagnostic, high-quality images for radiologist interpretation.
• Transfers patients using ARJO lift, transfer boards, or hover mats.
• Ensures images are sent to PACS and properly documented in patient records.
• Completes and bills for studies accurately.
• May train new employees or lead day-to-day activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
