Job summary

City of Sioux City is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The role involves maintaining and repairing electrical power, panels, motors, and related equipment, with duties including inspecting systems, troubleshooting faults, and updating maintenance records.

Candidates should have a HS diploma or GED and at least one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training. Evening/weekend work and residency within 30 miles may be required.

Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or GED and one year of experience with electrical/electromechanical equipment, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Proven ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics.
Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous record-keeping.

Responsibilities

Inspect wiring, panels, motors, and switchgear for safe operation.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and equipment.
Maintain motors and switchgear; ensure compliance with electrical codes.
Interpret blueprints and schematics to plan maintenance tasks.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and service history.
Assist plant maintenance mechanics as needed.
