Job summary

Qualifications

The Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic-In-Training to join our team.

Under guidance and direction of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Maintenance Supervisor, assists with the routine maintenance and repair of the Wastewater Treatment Plant and related facilities and equipment.

This position will work Monday-Friday 700am-330pm. Must be able to work outside normal working hours to include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. On-call if needed.

Our employees are required to reside within 30 miles of the City of Sioux City limits which extends to other adjoining states; Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota.

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from standard high school or GED. Experience in mechanical maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery and experience in a water or wastewater facility preferred.

• Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

• Experience in mechanical maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery and experience in a water or wastewater facility preferred.

Special Requirements

• Must possess a valid driver’s license throughout length of employment.
• Must obtain an Iowa Grade 1 Wastewater System Certificate within 24 months of appointment.
