Job summary

The Writing Center Tutor at Troy University in Dothan provides tutoring support for the Writing Process to students across majors, both on campus and online. You will assist the Writing Center Director with tutoring services, scheduling, and workshops, and perform related duties as assigned.

The role is part-time (IPT) with responsibilities including helping students improve reading and writing skills and guiding them through revisions and writing strategies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong aptitude for reading, writing, and teaching others these skills
• Minimum of 15 hours or more in English, Writing, or any other closely related field (preferred)
• Associate’s degree (or 60 hours) in English, Writing, or related field (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Assist the Writing Center Director with tutoring services on campus and online.
• Tutor students from all majors in the Writing Process.
• Support student use of scheduling and information software.
• Develop and conduct workshops as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
