Job summary

The Orono WPCF is seeking an entry level Wastewater Laborer to support operation of the wastewater treatment facility, pump stations, collection system and solids handling facilities.

Duties include lab tasks for process control, equipment maintenance, sewer cleaning, vegetation clearance, and rotating on-call duties. Four 10-hour days weekly; pay range $22.42–$30.78 per hour plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Must communicate effectively with the public and be respectful.
• Mechanical knowledge of machinery and equipment.
• Familiarity with basic computer applications.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff.
• Ability to work safely with equipment in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Orono, Maine WPCF is currently seeking applicants for the entry level position of Wastewater Laborer. The purpose of this position is to assist in the operation of the wastewater treatment facility, pump stations, collection system and solids handling facilities.

The work schedule is 4 day / 40 hour per week (10hr days). The Town of Orono offers competitive pay with benefits that include. Health Insurance, Dental and eye care . Earned Vacation Time, Sick Time and 13 Paid Holidays. Orono also participates in the Maine Public Employees Retirement System.

Pay range for this position is $22.42 - $30.78/hour depending on experience.
