Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Wound Care department. This full-time, day shift role involves direct patient care, wound assessment, dressing changes, and collaboration with physicians and staff to prevent hospital-acquired pressure injuries.

The RN must hold an active state license, BLS on hire, and ideally have acute care and wound care experience, with WOC/WCC certifications preferred. Competitive benefits and total rewards apply.

Qualifications

• Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the state.
• BLS upon hire and maintain current.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Previous wound care knowledge and/or experience preferred (1 year).
• Wound Care Certification within first year of hire.
• Wound, Ostomy, Continence (WOC) or (WCC) Board Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care in the inpatient wound care department.
• Assess the skin of patients and monitor wound status.
• Implement dressing changes per physician orders and clinical guidelines.
• Apply offloading and HAPI prevention orders.
• Educate staff on wound care, HAPI prevention, and skin care.
• Establish monthly wound care committee meetings with facility staff.
• Collaborate with departments to implement evidence-based practices.
• Communicate treatment changes with physicians and charge nurses.
• Report HAPI occurrences to leadership promptly.
• Participate in team development calls and meetings.
