Job summary

South Shore Health and Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced RN Wound Nurse to join our dedicated team in Gary, IN. The role focuses on wound care, patient assessment and collaboration with the nursing leadership to deliver high-quality resident care.

Responsibilities include overseeing wound care, documenting care plans, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate is licensed in Indiana, wound-care certified, and committed to compassionate geriatric care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and RN registered in the state where the facility is located.
• Must be wound care certified.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with residents, families, staff and regulatory agencies.
• Accurate documentation and charting of nursing care and assessments.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate wound care activities and inventory.

Responsibilities

• Attend department meetings and staff trainings.
• Instruct staff on policies and wound care regulations; monitor compliance.
• Provide wound care treatments as ordered by physicians.
• Document nurse notes, orders, assessments and care plans.
• Monitor residents’ conditions and respond to changes promptly.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow universal precautions.
