Job summary

Prime Healthcare Services is seeking a Wound Care RN for Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission, TX. The role focuses on wound assessment, ostomy care, and hyperbaric therapy coordination in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Ideal candidates hold an RN license, BLS, and have wound care experience. Certification within the first year and WOC/WCC credentials are preferred. The position is full-time, days, with a sign-on bonus available.

Qualifications

• Must have current and valid RN license issued by the state.
• BLS certification at hire and maintained.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Previous wound care knowledge and/or experience preferred (1 year).
• Wound Care Certification within first year of hire.
• WOC or WCC Board Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document the condition of patients' wounds and evaluate the effectiveness of wound treatments.
• Apply dressings and treatments to wounds, ensuring proper techniques to promote healing and prevent infection.
• Provide comprehensive patient care, including both inpatient and outpatient wound ostomy and hyperbaric treatment.
• Educate patients and their families about wound care techniques and prevention strategies, ostomy care and continence management.
• Track progress of wound healing, modify care plans as needed, ensure follow-up care and support post-discharge.
• Implement infection control measures and educate staff on wound care protocols and internal policies.
• Stay up to date on latest wound care techniques and participate in continuing education and professional development.
• Interact with community resources to ensure continuity of care.
• Clinic nurses provide hyperbaric therapy to appropriate patients (RN training for hyperbaric therapy is provided).
