Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced Enterostomal Therapy and Wound Care Nurse to lead patient assessments, care planning, and education across care teams. You will collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and families to implement evidence-based wound care protocols and teaching tools.

Responsibilities include developing policies, advocating for patients, participating in clinical studies, and ensuring readiness for high-quality enterostomal care across the hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• 3 years experience in Enterostomal Therapy
• 3 years experience in Medical/Surgical Nursing
• Competency to provide care to neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Knowledge of computer skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification, State of Pennsylvania
• Wound Care Certified (WCC) certification from NAWC, State of Pennsylvania, within 90 days
• Pennsylvania driver's license
• Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs.
• Frequent sitting/standing and keyboard use
• Role-specific patient care activities including kneeling, bending, squatting, and CPR

• Consult, assess patients, respond to needs, and offer recommendations for continued treatment
• Assess, plan, and implement patient/family care; evaluate interventions and revise care plans
• Develop and implement patient/family teaching tools and programs
• Develop, maintain, and distribute priority lists of active protocols to participating physicians
• Formulate hospital policies and procedures relevant to enterostomal therapy and wound care
• Advocate for patients throughout enterostomal/wound care services
• Identify areas for clinical studies and promote or conduct investigations
• Identify discharge needs and refer patients/families to appropriate agencies
• Receive and review newly activated protocols, amendments, notices, suspensions, and terminations from the principal investigator
• Serve as a resource for nursing staff in enterostomal and wound care nursing
