Job description

• Provide patient care to Wound Care Center patients
• Handle patient intake and discharge processes according to hospital and nursing standards
• Assist in the vein clinic after completing Healogics Vein Clinic training
• Serve as Case Manager for assigned patients when required
• Perform initial nursing assessments and communicate findings to assigned physicians
• Assess wound stages and measurements
• Document care plans and evaluate patient outcomes
• Identify patient care situations requiring intervention
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Educate patients and caregivers
• Advocate for and coordinate patient care
• Perform hyperbaric oxygen therapy duties after completing Healogics hyperbaric training
• Potentially perform hyperbaric safety director duties after required training
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, Wound Care Center Providers, the Program Director, and Medical Director
• Potentially function as a Documentation Assistant (scribe)
• Perform other required duties
• Work across the Palestine and Jacksonville clinics Monday through Thursday during daytime hours

Requirements

• Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current RN license in the state of practice, maintained throughout employment
• Demonstrated competency in BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Organization, prioritization, and time-management skills
• Basic knowledge of healthcare regulatory/accrediting requirements
• Strong interpersonal, listening, oral, and written communication skills, including presentation skills
• Customer service and follow-up skills
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Teaching skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitask environment
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Ability to remain calm in all situations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
• Working knowledge of computerized nursing systems
• Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting/moving items up to 20 pounds and up to 75 pounds with equipment assistance
• Ability to work in patient care, office, and hazardous environments
