Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled wound care nurse to assess and treat wounds in a long-term care setting. You will monitor progress, document findings, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality resident care.

Travel between Westerville Post Acute and Dublin Post Acute may be required. Responsibilities include wound assessment, medication administration, care plan development, and maintaining compliance with nursing standards.

Qualifications

Possession of a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.
Two (2) years or more experience, preferably in a long-term care facility.
Maintain a current, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse.
Current CPR certification.
Ability to read technical procedures and policy manuals.

Responsibilities

Assessing, treating, monitoring, and documenting wounds.
Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to promote healing and prevent complications.
Traveling between Westerville Post Acute and Dublin Post Acute to ensure consistent, high-quality wound care.
Communicating regularly with residents and their family about Plans of Care, PT, OT and other treatment protocols.
Charting nurses' notes in an informative and descriptive manner.
Providing resident care, including administering medication and treatment according to physician's orders.
Performing treatments in a manner that protects the dignity of the resident.
Observing and assessing wounds and pressure sores, notifying physicians of any lack of progress or signs of infection.
Assisting in preparing and updating care plans for treatment-related issues.
Participating in facility surveys made by authorized government agencies as requested.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Maintain a current, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse.
Current CPR certification.
Knowledge and experience with PCC preferred.
Must maintain all required continuing education for licensing.
Must remain in good standing with the State Board of Nursing at all times.
