Job summary

Sunrise Nursing & Memory Care in Raymore, MO is seeking a compassionate Wound Care Nurse to join our skilled nursing team. You will assess, treat, and manage wounds, coordinating with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to improve resident outcomes.

The role requires an active Missouri RN or LPN license and a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience. Wound care and infection prevention knowledge are highly valued, with opportunities for training and certification within 1 year.

What You'll Do

As a Wound Care Nurse, you will play an important role in the assessment, treatment, and ongoing management of wounds while collaborating with residents, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform comprehensive wound assessments, reassessments, and ongoing wound management

• Develop and implement individualized wound care plans according to physician orders and facility policies

• Monitor wound progress and document treatments and outcomes accurately

• Identify changes in wound condition and communicate concerns promptly to the appropriate medical team

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, CNAs, therapy, dietary, and other members of the interdisciplinary team

• Support infection prevention and control practices throughout the facility

• Compile, track, and submit infection prevention and wound-related data as required

• Assist with employee health and infection prevention matters, including exposures, communicable diseases, and vaccine-preventable illnesses

• Provide education and guidance to nursing staff regarding wound care and infection prevention best practices

• Help ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, facility policies, and clinical standards

• Support a culture of compassionate, resident-centered care

What We're Looking For

• Current, valid RN or LPN/LVN license in the state of Missouri, as applicable to the position

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience

• Wound care experience preferred

• Strong assessment, clinical, communication, and organizational skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and an interdisciplinary healthcare team

• Willingness to obtain Wound Care Certification within 1 year

• Willingness to obtain Infection Prevention and Control Certification within 1 year

• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption, as required
