Job summary
CareMed is seeking a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to deliver specialized wound services to residents in long-term care facilities. You will diagnose and treat wounds, prescribe appropriate medications, and order follow-up diagnostics while coordinating with facility staff and the primary care physician.
The role requires AR licensure as an NP, board certification, and experience in wound care for elderly or geriatric patients.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted NP license in AR.
- Board certification required.
- DEA licensure preferred (optional).
- Clinical wound care background in adult/geriatric.
- Experience with wound vacs and DME devices.
- Comfort diagnosing and treating arterial, venous, diabetic wounds.
Responsibilities
- Provide wound care services for long-term care patients in skilled nursing facilities.
- Prescribe medications in accordance with AR law.
- Order, review, and follow up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
- Communicate with nursing home staff about changes in condition.
- Collaborate with the primary care physician.
- Coordinate care within an interdisciplinary team.
