  • Provide clear instructions to ensure adherence to wound care protocols.
  • Maintain accurate EMR documentation of wound assessments, treatment plans and patient responses.

Shift Available: Days

Employment Type: Per Diem (PRN)

Hours: 8-hour shift

Location: St. Mary's Medical Center, Blue Springs, MO

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with expertise in wound care to become a vital part of our healthcare team. The LPN candidate will bring strong clinical skills, a deep commitment to patient well-being, and hands-on experience treating a range of wounds—including surgical incisions, diabetic ulcers, and pressure injuries. As a Wound Care LPN, you will play a key part in supporting patient recovery and promoting optimal healing outcomes.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of wounds to determine appropriate treatment plans.
  • Monitor wound progression, document changes, and make necessary adjustments to care plans.
  • Collaborate with wound care specialists and physicians to optimize treatment strategies.
  • Administer appropriate treatments, dressings, and therapeutic interventions for various wound types.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to ensure effective wound management.
  • Provide clear instructions and support to ensure adherence to wound care protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of wound assessments, treatment plans, and patient responses in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Stay current with the latest wound care techniques and treatments by participating in continuing education opportunities and professional development activities.
Qualifications

  • current and valid Missouri state LPN license
  • current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

  • One year of experience in an Acute Care hospital or clinic setting
  • previous wound care experience
