Job summary

MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center seeks a Patient Care Assistant to support the Adult Wound Care Unit. You will perform daily living activities for patients under supervision, ensuring a safe, clean environment and contributing to overall patient care.

The role emphasizes reporting changes to RNs, maintaining privacy in records, and providing compassionate care while handling equipment and safety protocols. A 12-hour night shift is offered with a signing bonus for external hires.

Qualifications

• Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistants with 3 years of experience in an acute care facility or 5 years in SNF/sub-acute settings or nursing students in the nursing program (first semester completed).
• CPR & AED certification required; basic computer knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recognizes and reports changing patient care needs to the registered nurse.
• Documents findings and maintains privacy in patient records in compliance with standards.
• Provides emotional and physical comfort to patients and maintains a safe environment; handles department equipment and reports repairs.
