Job summary

TeamHealth is seeking a Wound Care Advanced Practice Clinician to join our Mt. Pleasant post-acute care team in Michigan. This full-time role involves rounding in skilled nursing facilities with strong onboarding and mentorship, offering autonomy and substantial earning potential on a fee-for-service basis.

The position supports a 3-month onboarding program and access to leading clinical experts, with opportunities for growth and leadership within the market.

Qualifications

  • Must hold NP or PA license in Michigan and DEA registration.
  • Experience in wound care post-acute, acute, ED, or clinic settings preferred.
  • Wound care certification preferred.
  • Strong clinical foundation with regulatory knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach with a positive outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Assess wounds with detailed evaluation of size, depth, drainage, and contributing factors.
  • Implement treatments per physician orders and protocols, including debridement and dressings.
  • Design and update individualized wound care plans with the care team.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home care, hygiene, and prevention.
  • Mentor junior staff on wound care management.
  • Document assessments and progress for continuity of care and billing.

Mount Pleasant Area Post-acute Care Practice

Are you interested in working with one of top medical groups in the country? TeamHealth is seeking a quality-drivennurse practitionerorphysician assistant to join our post-acute care team in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. This is a full-timeopportunity (5days/week)rounding in skilled nursing facilities, with excellentsupport and training, autonomy, and earning potential.Compensation is fee for service with an estimated compensation range of $115,000 – $150,000annually and no cap on productivity income potential.

Our comprehensive clinical and operational leadership team will support your transition into our medical practice with a comprehensive 3-month onboarding program along with a dedicated clinical field mentor and support from industry leading clinical experts in post-acute medicine. Growth and leadership opportunities within this market are available as well.

Our innovative population health data reports will guide you towards optimal and timely care for our patient population. The medical practice is part of TeamACO, a dedicated long-term Accountable Care Organization participating in the Medicare Shared Savings Program for our clinicians, which could result in you receiving a portion of the shared savings if certain criteria are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessment:Conduct thorough, detailed evaluations of wound size, depth, drainage, and underlying contributing factors (e.g., poor circulation, diabetes)
  • Treatment Implementation:Execute physician orders and evidence-based protocols, including wound cleaning, debridement (removal of dead tissue), dressing changes, and operating specialized therapies (like negative pressure wound therapy or hyperbaric oxygen)
  • Care Planning:Design and update individualized treatment and skin prevention plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Education:Teach patients and their caregivers proper home care techniques, hygiene, and preventative measures
  • Staff Mentorship:Act as a clinical resource by training junior nurses and assistive personnel on current wound care management theory
  • Documentation:Record assessments, wound progress, and interventions to ensure continuity of care and proper compliance for insurance reimbursement
Qualifications
  • NP or PA license (State of Michigan) and DEA
  • Experience in wound care post-acute, acute, ED, or clinic settings preferred, but not required
  • Wound care certification strongly preferred but could consider candidate without who has strong wound care experience
  • Strong clinical foundation and knowledge of healthcare regulatory standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach with a positive outlook
