Epiphany Lutheran Church seeks a Director of Music Ministry to administer and grow the church's music program across diverse worship experiences. The role leads planning, rehearsal, and performance, balancing Lutheran identity with artistic expression while coordinating with the Senior Pastor and church staff.

The position oversees multiple ensembles (choir, orchestra, handbells, contemporary band) and chairs budgeting for music needs, all within the church’s governance and worship calendar.

Qualifications

• Strong worship planning and implementation skills.
• Creative skills in multiple musical genre.
• Musical expertise in practice, motivation, directing and teaching.
• Administrative skills to form cohesive musical ensembles.
• Experience creating and administering an annual music budget.

Responsibilities

• Administer the music ministries of Epiphany Lutheran Church.
• Plan and implement diverse music in accord with the various worship assemblies.
• Serve as principal organist/pianist to lead congregational singing.
• Implement music selections that balance Lutheran identity, history, theology, and culture.
• Supervise and access contributions of ensembles (Adult Choir, Orchestra, Handbells, Contemporary Worship Band, Choral groups, Vocal ensembles, Soloists/Instrumentalists).
• Provide insight into music/worship practices and implement changes in consultation with the Senior Pastor.
• Supervise any additional music employees.
• Work within financial restrictions for equipment and supplies.
• Attend regular staff meetings.
• Plan the worship structure of the different services.
• Plan and provide music for weddings, funerals, etc.
• At the discretion of the Senior Pastor, provide education opportunities regarding music and worship.
• Work with sound/AV personnel to evaluate/implement changes.
• Collaborate with communication staff for worship materials.
• Work with youth ministries to nurture future musicians.
• Maintain organ, piano, and keyboards.
