Job summary

Connection is seeking a Workstation Technician DC to join our Distribution Services team in Wilmington, OH. You will handle desktop and device management, resolve hardware and software issues, and support fulfillment operations with a focus on timely service and accurate configurations.

You will install and configure desktops and peripherals, train end users, maintain software images, and contribute to process documentation.

Qualifications

• Intermediate and Tier 1 desktop repair, configuration, and networking.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills to include creating presentations, documents, and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Resolves hardware and software problems for all facility areas.
• Provides immediate support to Distribution fulfillment operations.
• Responds to printer or system issues preventing fulfillment operations.
• Prioritizes issues and escalates when needed.
• Installs desktops, printers, wearable devices, laptops, tablets, and video conferencing equipment.
• Receives, installs, tests, and trains end users on new desktops.
• Maintains software images for major desktop setups.
• Trains staff on new techniques or resolutions and handles special requests.
• Works with team on internal moves.
• Sets up Video Conferences as requested.
• Updates and maintains central desktop inventory database.
• Documents procedures related to workstation processes.
• Writes procedures for software and hardware installation.
• Performs other duties or special projects.

Working under direct supervision of the Site Network Systems Manager, the Workstation Technician supports the Distribution Services department in the day-to-day operation of the business through desktop, computer functionality, and device management. The Workstation Tech works on Tier 1 moderately complex hardware and software problems.

Responsibilities

• Uses reference manuals, software, and hardware manufacturers, and other sources to resolve hardware and software problems for all areas of the facility as requested or authorized.
• Provides immediate support to Distribution fulfillment operations.
• Responds to any printer or systems issue preventing or interrupting the fulfillment operation.
• Effectively prioritizes assigned issues in order to provide efficient and timely customer service and escalates issues as needed.
• Installs desktop, printers, wearable devices, laptop, tablet, video conferencing equipment [Hardware & Software].
• Receives, installs, tests, and trains the end user on new desktops.
• Maintains current software images of major desktop setups.
• Trains fellow staff members on new techniques or newfound resolutions as appropriate and completes special requests.
• Works with team to manage internal periodic departmental moves.
• Sets up Video Conferences as requested.
• Updates and maintains central desktop and peripheral inventory database.
• Documentation of procedures related to workstation processes.
• Writes procedures for software and hardware installation.
• Performs all other duties or special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Intermediate and Tier 1 desktop computer repair, configuration, and networking.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills to include creating presentations, creating documents in Word and creating spreadsheets in Excel.

Full Time

$22.60/Hr. – $28.36/Hr.
