Job summary

Edwards Vacuum in Chandler, AZ, seeks a Workshop Technician Apprentice to support assembly, disassembly and testing of vacuum pumps under guidance of experienced technicians, aligned to the weekly production plan.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in manufacturing, can read drawings, use hand and power tools, and are willing to work shifts. SAP and basic English are advantageous. Training and 6S standards are emphasized as part of daily responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in manufacturing or similar.
• Ability to work with hand and power tools.
• Good PC literacy; experience with SAP is an advantage.
• Ability to read drawings, schematics, and published specifications.
• Some knowledge of English is a huge advantage.
• Willingness to work in shifts, time flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Review HS2 documentation daily.
• Use PPE and follow BAM processes and procedures.
• Meet daily production targets with respect to quality, volume and efficiency; coordinate with Zone Leader.
• Inspect parts, assemblies, and systems per work instructions and drawings.
• Daily checks on calibrated tools prior to use.
• Perform leak tests and assist in troubleshooting leaks.
• Report problems and seek assistance for complex issues.
• Maintain 6S-standard work area and follow Kanban system.
• Follow VTPS rules and complete required paperwork accurately.

Workshop Technician Apprentice

Scope of the job:

Workshop Technician Apprentice supports the assembly, disassembly, and testing of vacuum pumps under the guidance of experienced technicians and according to the weekly production plan

Main Responsibilities:

• Reviews HS2 documentation on daily basis.
• Is responsible for using the correct PPE, obeys required BAM processes and procedures.
• Is responsible for meeting the daily production targets with respect to quality, volume and efficiency. Collaborates with, other zone members and the Zone Leader in establishing priorities, ensures customer due dates are met.
• Inspects parts, assemblies, and systems. Follows inspection criteria defined in Work Instructions, drawings, schematics, or other technical data as required.
• Daily checks calibrated tooling prior to its use.
• Performs leak tests and assists in troubleshooting leak test failures.
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures. Follows and complies with assigned tasks.
• Promptly reports problems to management and seeks assistance towards resolution of more complex problems.
• Maintains working area in accordance with good housekeeping practices and 6S standards as defined by management.
• Maintains established quality and time standards. Provides input and feedback for continuous improvement.
• Completes all required paperwork accurately and according to work instructions.
• Raises issues, observations at SIM2 meetings.
• Follows the Kanban system.
• Obeys VTPS rules/standards.

Skills / Knowledge / Experience

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in manufacturing or similar

Education level

High School education, preferably in a mechanical/technical field
