Job summary

Joe Coffee is seeking a Workshop Educator to teach public coffee education classes as part of the Workshop series. The role blends coaching, public speaking and hands-on instruction in Joe Coffee best practices for brewing, latte art, barista skills and sensory evaluation.

The educator must be friendly, punctual and capable of handling the setup required before customers arrive, with a strong foundation in espresso, milk texturing and brewing basics.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed a minimum of one (1) year as a Barista in a specialty coffee environment.
• Experience in public speaking or lecturing preferred.
• Teaching or coaching experience a plus.
• Must love people and hospitality - this is ultimately a hospitality role.
• Solid understanding of barista fundamentals including espresso extraction, milk texturing and latte art, and general brewing best practices.
• Must be in good standing with Joe Coffee.
• Must be able to bend and lift up to 35lbs on occasion.
• The most successful Workshop Educators have these traits: clear communication, empathy, adaptability, enthusiasm, and punctuality.

Role: Workshop EducatorReports to: Director of Coffee ServicesPay: $25/hrHours: 6-8 per week, Saturdays onlyDescription: The Workshop Educator teaches public coffee education classes as part of the Workshop series. This is a highly independent and dynamic role that involves public speaking, coaching, teaching and guiding students in Joe Coffee best practices for coffee brewing, latte art, barista and sensory skills.
