Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Workplace Safety Training Specialist to deliver the hospital's aggression management program and assess participants in class, with simulations in clinical work environments.

The role focuses on creating a culture of safety, trauma-informed care, and regulatory compliance, reporting to leadership and collaborating across departments. Travel to Mahoning Valley Campus is required 3–4 times per month.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with healthcare/education background.
• Must complete Aggression Management Trainer course.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in providing training, teaching, or group facilitation.
• Strong understanding of human behavior, crisis intervention, and de-escalation skills.
• Experience in Healthcare is preferred.
• Requires moderate physical activity.

Responsibilities

• Deliver aggression management and safety training to an interdisciplinary hospital audience.
• Track competencies and collaborate with leaders to ensure compliance.
• Provide feedback to staff and maintain documentation.
• Deliver training on crisis response, de-escalation, and interventions per policies.
• Collaborate with clinical staff, public safety, and leadership on violence initiatives.
• Evaluate and assist with creating additional training opportunities for various environments.
• Travel between facilities or departments.
• Other duties as assigned.
