Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years de-escalation experience in acute psychiatric settings.
• Healthcare experience required.
• Psychiatric work experience preferred.
• De-escalation and aggression management training required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a safety expert in patient care areas with adherence to policies.
• Conduct continuous safety rounds in patient care areas.
• Develop rapport with patients in line with treatment goals.
• Respond to staff requests regarding escalated or aggressive patients.
• Demonstrate de-escalation techniques and interventions.
• Assist with safe restraint and seclusion procedures per policy.
• Debrief staff after crises and seclusion events.
• Collaborate with Public Safety to maintain a safe environment.
• Intervene during escalations to reduce risk.
• Document safety encounters in medical records.
